ANNOUNCING THE LAUNCH OF A NEW WEBSITE
Iartbroker was set up by Crispian Riley-Smith. He explains the thinking behind this new website:
‘Many clients come to me looking to buy or sell a picture, and invariably I can not help them immediately. It struck me that there was a gap in the market and over the last few years I have been developing this website with a web designer and my clients. I think this site has enormous opportunity for dealers, collectors, interior decorators and those clients looking to the internet to sell or source material. I have already sold some drawings myself.
Over the next few months I will be actively informing my clients and look forward to working with them to develop it’.
Iartbroker is aimed at the picture market of all periods, from Old Masters to Contemporary, and includes paintings, drawings and prints. With time the plan is to develop the site into other categories.
Buyer benefits
As a buyer you can register FREE, on-line, enter as many search enquiries as you like and you will be informed of any matches immediately. If a request is not listed on the site at that particular moment the client will be sent an email FREE when the picture is added to the site. When there is a match the buyer is put in direct contact with the seller and any further enquiries can be made to them over the condition, price, viewing and any other questions there may be.
If clients do not use the internet regularly and wish iartbroker to add the information clients are encouraged to contact iartbroker and we will do the work.
Seller benefits
As a seller there are many advantages for choosing this route for selling pictures. Clients do not pay any commission, only a listing fee. The listing period is 6 months. The buyer is put in direct contact with the seller. The description and entry are for the seller’s to enter as well as the image, and the picture does not leave the seller’s possession*. The website makes use of the internet search facilities FREE.
